Terms of use
Version of 28 October 2026
Please read these terms carefully to the end. They govern your use of TravelGuard and explain what the service can — and cannot — do for you.
1. Purpose of the service
TravelGuard helps you prepare your trips by gathering the entry, transit and stay requirements that apply to your itinerary and passports (visas, electronic travel authorisations, document validity, supporting documents). The service is currently free of charge.
2. Guidance, not legal advice
Results are based on cited official or reputable sources that are checked regularly, but they remain indicative and may be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date. They are neither legal advice, nor a guarantee of entry, transit or stay in any territory, nor a promise of any outcome. You should always check for yourself with the competent authorities, even when TravelGuard states something: only the authorities of the country concerned (embassies, consulates, border police, airlines) decide whether a traveller is admitted, and their decision prevails in all circumstances.
3. Your responsibility as a traveller
Before booking and before departure, you are responsible for checking with the competent authorities the requirements that apply to your situation, for holding valid documents and for completing applications on time. You acknowledge that TravelGuard is an aid to preparation, that you must not treat it as sufficient to make a decision (buying tickets, non-refundable bookings, incurring expenses) and that you act at your own risk. Rules may change without notice, sometimes hours before a departure.
4. Limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is” with no warranty of accuracy, completeness, timeliness or availability. To the extent permitted by law, TravelGuard, its officers and its providers cannot be held liable for denied boarding or entry, delays, cancellations, fines, costs incurred, indirect loss or any other consequence of incomplete, inaccurate or outdated information, of using or being unable to use the service, or of temporary unavailability. As the service is free, and unless mandatory law provides otherwise, TravelGuard's total liability to you, whatever the cause, is limited to €100. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including in case of wilful misconduct, gross negligence or personal injury), nor your mandatory consumer rights.
5. Rule monitoring and alerts
Monitoring your saved trips warns you when we detect a change. It is an extra aid, not a guarantee: a change may be missed or published late by the authorities. You can turn alerts off at any time.
6. Your account
You agree to provide accurate information, keep your password confidential and report any unauthorised use. You are responsible for the information entered for your family members and must have their consent.
7. Personal data
Your data is kept to the strict minimum, encrypted and never sold. You can export it or delete your account at any time from “My account”. Full details are in the privacy policy.
8. Acceptable use
The service is for personal use only. Automated extraction of content, circumventing security measures and any unlawful use are prohibited.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms may change. If a significant change is made, we will ask you to accept them again the next time you sign in.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Subject to mandatory consumer-protection provisions, any dispute falls under the competent courts of Paris; you keep the rights you hold under the law of your country of residence.
11. Prior complaint and mediation
Before bringing any legal action, you agree to write to us setting out your claim and to give us 30 days to respond: most difficulties are resolved this way. If you are a consumer, you may also use a consumer mediator free of charge. You acknowledge that you have read these terms, in particular sections 2, 3 and 4, and that you accept them before using the service.
